“There are always three speeches, for every one you actually gave. The one you practiced, the one you gave, and the one you wish you gave.”
Presentation matters a lot especially the one which you wish to give! A research proposal is a kind of a presentation you have to give prior to the final project execution. There is always a first time and this is the right time to hit the hammer, no matter how difficult it is. For a perfect presentation, one has to follow the perfect format for designing a research proposal.
Here is the standard research proposal development format that will win the heart of your teacher in the first go!
It is not a single four words catchy statement but a segment that will clearly identify the focus of your study including the description of the study design and your objectives.
It is the most important part of developing a research proposal. Mention the name of the people who have contributed to your research work. Name them from most to least important in numbers.
State the background information of the project including the critical review of the current information, published and all the unpublished work you have found so far with the help of your research work. The research hypothesis should also be included in this section along with the explanations for the cause of conducting this study.
State your research objectives in a concise manner but extremely logical.
Study design comprises of the methodology you will be using in your research process. The description of the following elements must be there.
A number of groups with all the detailed information about them will be included in this chapter, for instance.
The description for the intervention must include the Investigation including the timing, dose, administering and receiving the treatment. The questionnaires or the interview, methods and the contamination, furthermore, the important safeguards and risks should be made clearer.
How will you measure the outcomes and investigations? Make a detailed list of the possible tools you might use to measure them in your research work.
The timing of the study you will consume to get to the final results will be mentioned here. Moreover, you may also discuss the other related issues in your study plan section.
To safeguard the interest of the patients/subjects, you may include some ethical standards that you will follow during research work. In addition to this, the research limitations faced by you must also be included here.
Mention the name of the individual who will supervise the whole research project and who will prepare a research proposal.
How will you disseminate your research work will be mentioned here including the route for the external and internal publication.
Recommendations for future research work must also be suggested. With little modifications, the above-told research proposal design is implemented in almost all research projects conducted in universities and colleges around the world.
